Accent Reduction Private Coaching
We provide 1-hour private sessions, custom-tailored according to the student's English-speaking level, progress, and motivation. Program duration ranges between 10 to 20 sessions. Additional sessions are available upon request.
Program Features
- Preliminary assessment (typed report included)
- Warm-up instruction
- Consonants, including: L, N, TH, R, M, V, F, Z, S, B, P, D, T, G, K, SH, ZH, CH, NG, DG, etc.
- Vowels
- Word linking principles
- Additional general speaking principles, including pitch, intonation, stress & emphasis, rate, duration, phrasing, and pauses
- Pronunciation of commonly used English words
- Self-teaching methodology - Instruction on how to practice and how to correct yourself.
Materials Needed
Textbook, The Use and Training of the Human Voice (3rd Edition) by Arthur Lessac. Instructor will provide handouts.
Typical Weekly Assignments
- Textbook readings.
- Textbook exercises.
- Additional speech improvement exercises.
